Welcome to your Library at Haslingden High School
Our school library is a peaceful space where you can browse and select a book, join in with Book Club, request a book and find a friendly face. Everyone is welcome here.
We hope that you can find a book that is perfect for you and your Librarians, Ms Choudry and Mrs Khattak can help you choose one from our large collection.
You also have access to our Library online via a tile on your iPad. Accessit enables you to see what books we have in the Library, make a reservation, browse a Reading List for your year group and keep tabs on what books you have borrowed and when they are due back. If you have an iPad from home, Ms Choudry or Mrs Khattak will forward you the correct URL to join.
Our school’s vibrant culture of reading for pleasure means the Library is where you will head to collect prizes and badges awarded for the numerous reading awards and competitions we run throughout the school year. The Library is also the heart of the Haslingden High Literature Festival in the summer term.
You are welcome to pop into the Library:
- Before school
- At break time
- After school
How the Library works – borrowing and returning books
Books are issued for a two-week period but can be renewed if you haven’t finished them in that time.
If you forget to bring them back, you will receive a series of email reminders about your overdue book(s) from the automated system until you return them. We don’t have fines for overdue books, but we do ask you to replace missing or damaged items if possible.
Rather read on your iPad?
You can sign into the eLibrary (see the link below) to browse the collection of books available to read on your iPad using ePlatform. Look out for the recommended reads for each year group.
