Cambridge Advanced National in Health and Social Care (Extended Certificate)

The qualification will develop knowledge, understanding and skills that will help prepare learners for progression to undergraduate study and are relevant to the health and social sector. Learners will experience a curriculum which offers both theoretical learning and hands on experiences. Learners might be interested in this qualification if they want to apply what they learn to practical, real-life contexts. Learners will develop the transferable skills that can be used in both higher education and other life and work situations including;

  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with individuals including experience in a care setting
  • Creating and presenting/delivering information to an individual
  • Researching topic areas and recording research sources, then using them to interpret findings and present evidence
  • Recommending care and support for individuals
  • Time management
  • Critical thinking

Preferred entry requirements:

Grade 4 at GCSE English. There is no requirement to have studied the subject previously.

Course assessment details:

Two units are assessed by an exam and four units are assessed through coursework.
