Computer Science A Level
Brief details:
This specification promotes the integrated study of computer science. It will enable learners to develop a broad range of skills in the areas of programming, system development, computer architecture, data, communication and applications. The practical programming component requires learners to investigate, design, prototype, test and evaluate a solution.
Preferred entry requirements:
At least grade 5 at GCSE maths or grade 5 at GCSE computer science. Suitability will be discussed during interview.
Units studied:
- Unit 1: Programming and system development
- Unit 2: Computer architecture, data, communications and applications
- Unit 3: Programmed solution to a problem

Course Assessment details:
This course is assessed through examination (80%) and practical assessment (20%)
