Little Miss Teen Lancashire, Isobella-Grace Ward, 12, took Blackpool by storm in the national Miss Great Britain competition.

The Haslingden High School and Sixth Form student was crowned Little Miss Teen Lancashire at the beginning of the year, qualifying for Little Miss Teen Great Britain.

The competition was held at the Globe Theatre in Blackpool, where she represented the region in a series of presentations.

“The opening presentation involved wearing a red, white, or blue dress, and was followed by a dance. We then had to explain our title and introduce ourselves to the audience and judges. The most nerve-wracking part was the judges’ interviews beforehand, because it was just me and the judges, so there was a lot of pressure to get everything right in just two and a half minutes. I’ve made a lot of new friends, which I hope to see again in future competitions”.

Isobella’s mum, Fiona Ward, watched on from the crowd and said: “She represented Lancashire beautifully, made lots of new friends, had great fun, and learnt a lot”.

The rest of Isobella’s family watched her on a livestream and cheered her on.

11-year-old Harriet from Edinburgh won the competition.

Isobella hopes to compete again in next year’s competition after a bit more practice. She said the competition has inspired her to be more involved with charities, especially Cancer Research, which is close to her heart following the passing of her late great-grandfather.

At school, she is looking forward to studying Dance in the future and hopes that her involvement in school shows will help her on her way to a career in performing arts.

Haslingden High School and Sixth Form would like to congratulate Isobella on her success.
