Prom, pride and plenty of cake…
It’s been an exciting week as we have rounded up assessment week. Pride has dominated the scene with multiple celebrations of inclusion and community. Read on to find out more…

Bookmarks, Bakes & Brews
Earlier in the week, we held a crafty Pride-themed social for staff and students to attend. We created rainbow-themed bookmarks with colourful markers, stickers, and rainbow ribbon.
Each station was led by a student, each showing creative leadership in directing staff and students on how to make a bookmark.
It was great to get people together and be creative!

Cake Sale Success
Ms Southee hosted a charity bake sale with a group of students to raise money for key LGBTQIA+ charities that make a difference in people’s lives every single day.
From donuts to cupcakes, the treats went down a storm and we were glad to see so many students and staff supporting the sale.

Wear it with #Pride
As part of Pride Month celebrations, staff at Haslingden High School wore rainbow colours to remind students they are in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
One student said: “It makes me feel so safe when teachers go out of their way to let me know that they support me by wearing rainbow symbols. It makes me feel heard and seen.”
We are so proud of the inclusive community we have here.

A Night to Remember
Last night, we celebrated the Class of 25 with their end-of-school prom. The prom was held at the Dunkenhalgh in Blackburn and was a brilliant night of beautiful outfits, big smiles, and lots of dancing.
We saw some spectacular entrances, including tractors, a horse, many fancy cars, and even a police riot van.
We hope everyone had a great time and made memories to last a lifetime!

It’s been another great week! Stay tuned for another blog next week!
