Netball Super League
During half term, students had an amazing time watching a thrilling Netball Super League clash between Manchester Thunder and Cardiff Dragons! The match was intense from start to finish, with Thunder edging out a 59–54 victory.
A highlight of the game was the exciting new ‘super shot’ rule – where long-range shots are worth 2 points in the final 5 minutes of each quarter. It added an extra layer of drama and energy to an already electric atmosphere!
Find the Joy
Cameras at the ready! We have launched a photo competition for all HHS students, asking them to submit a photo of ‘what joy means to you’. Prizes will be awarded for the best photo in Years 7, 8, 9, & 10 and for staff (closes Friday 13th June 2025).
We can’t wait to see what brings our students joy! ☀️
Lancashire Champion
Millee, Year 12, won first place in the Lancashire Athletic Association’s 200m sprint – with a time of 25.9 seconds. Millie runs for the Blackburn Harriers and was thrilled to receive first place.
Crochet Club in bloom!
Crochet Club have started the half term by making intricate flowers which will eventually be attached to headbands ready for the summer!
Crochet is great for improving hand eye coordination skills, and can be incredibly relaxing to do at the end of a school day.
The club meets after school every Monday. Everyone is welcome to attend – B33 at 3pm.
A celebration of the arts
This week, local primary and secondary schools came together for a festival of dance, drama, music and art.
The annual collaboration event, organised by our very own Miss Anthony, aims to help children build their confidence on the stage while celebrating the talents of other local children.
Thank you to Stubbins Primary School, Haslingden Primary School, Helmshore Primary School, Walmersley CE Primary, Whitworth High, Tor View School, Stonyhurst, Canon Slade School, and of course all of our Haslingden High School students for all of your hard work and amazing performances.
