Pride month celebrated by Haslingden students

STUDENTS at Haslingden High School and Sixth Form celebrated Pride month with a host of activities.

Around 20 students have formed a weekly Pride and Allies Group and staff frequently drop in.

As part of the Pride celebrations, one of the founding members Oliver Flood created new artwork on the languages’ corridor.

The group meet weekly and look at LGBTQ role models, characters and films, read poems and discuss issues that are currently in the media.

Loud and proud cake sales have been held regularly and the group have had an input into school policies.

The students also planted sunflowers in hand decorated rainbow pots and gave the flowers away.
