The CBM Faculty consists of three subjects: Computing, Business and Media. The Faculty has played a key role in the achievements of the School over recent years; our record of exam success has contributed to the school’s continual development. In the sixth form, we offer A Levels in computer science and business as well as vocational qualifications in IT, business and media. These courses have proven very popular choices and have often led to further study in these areas. At KS4 we offer GCSEs in computer science, business and media. We also deliver the work related components of PSHE in an innovative way that supports students whilst providing the content for developing their IT skills.
KS3 Computing has been significantly overhauled following the introduction of the new curriculum in September 2014. Students learn the fundamentals of computational abstraction using Kodu, Scratch, HTML and Python as well as more traditional digital literacy topics. We operate a two year KS3 with students taking options at the end of Year 8.
Homework is an important means by which students can deepen their learning and improve their understanding of topics studied. More information can be found here.
