“The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. There is a strong safeguarding culture across the school. Leaders are well informed about a wide range of  safeguarding issues. They ensure that safeguarding training for staff is thorough. As a result, staff know how to identify the signs that may indicate that pupils are at risk  of harm.”

At Haslingden High School, we adopt a proactive and child-centred approach to safeguarding.

In Year 7, much of the care and support our young learners need is provided by their Form Tutor. Heads of Year, Progress Managers, and Heads of School oversee all aspects of monitoring and development, and any issues are quickly, effectively, and sensitively resolved.

One of our greatest strengths is our partnership with parents and carers, who are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s education by working in collaboration with the school. Regular communication, both formal and informal, means that students feel secure and supported.

To secure the best possible outcomes for our students, there are times when we may need to seek specialist input from other professionals outside of school, and we are proud of our excellent relationships with over 50 external agencies, and how we make effective use of the trained mental health practitioners who are based in our school each week.
