We bid our Year 11s a fond farewell at their Prom this week. Here’s what else has been happening…
Pride!
This week, we celebrated Pride with staff and students. On Tuesday, staff wore rainbows to show their support and acceptance for all students. Pride Club also hosted a get-together, made posters and bookmarks, and held a bake sale in aid of a charity of their choice.
Pride is about sharing the message that love wins over hate. And at Haslingden High School and Sixth Form, we want our students to know they are welcome here and that they are accepted – no matter what.
Guts and gore at Thackray Museum
Mrs D’Ippolito’s Year 12 Health and Social Care group headed to The Thackray Museum on Wednesday to explore the world of medicine.
The museum is the UK’s largest medical museum, with a host of imaginative exhibits including guts, gore, and the grim streets of Victorian Leeds.
The group really enjoyed the museum, and the trip was topped with a VERY warm drive back from Leeds!
Cricket champions
They played some fantastic cricket at the county finals on Tuesday and will now represent Lancashire in the North West finals on Wednesday, 1st July.
They are a real credit to the school. Well done, girls!
Keeping cool in the kitchen
It’s been an incredibly hot week, and we want to thank all of our parents/carers for their cooperation and support in navigating this difficult weather. With cooler weather ahead, normal uniform is expected on Monday unless notified otherwise.

Prom!
Our Year 11 students had a fabulous time at Prom last night!
It was wonderful to see you all dancing, laughing, and just having a ball – all together for one last time.
You were one of our Covid years, and it’s been a privilege to see you come so far and achieve so much.
See you in August for Results Day and in September for those joining us at Haslingden Sixth Form.
