FOOTBALLING girls from Haslingden High School’s Year 7 reached their goal when they won an inter-school indoor 5-a-side competition.
Two teams from Haslingden High School, All Saints, Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar and Alder Grange played in two leagues with the winners from each contesting the final.
Haslingden team one won all but one of their matches and in the final played a team from Alder Grange and won 1:0.
For Beth Hartwell is could have been a difficult match if both the Haslingden High School teams had been in the final as she was goalkeeper on both teams.
For Lucy Valentine, who plays for Blackburn Under 13s, and Beth Macdonald, who used to play for Manchester City and now plays for Bury Under 13s, the competition was a good chance to play for their school.
