April 2014: Sixth form students put school in top 100

ACHIEVEMENTS of students studying A levels at Haslingden High School have put the school among the top 100 comprehensives in the country.

In the latest national school league tables, Haslingden High School is joint 90th in the country for its students’ success at A levels.

Director of Sixth Form Simon Heaton said: “We are delighted that the hard work of our students and the dedication of our staff has been recognised.

“The Sixth Form at Haslingden High School is a fantastic place to study and the outstanding A level results our students achieve allow them to progress onto the university or career of their choice.”

The Class of 2013 achieved the school’s best ever A level results in terms of the percentage A-A* grades, percentage of A*-B grades and in terms of average grade per exam entered.

Mr Heaton said: “Overall, the year group’s results put them in the top 10 per cent nationally in terms of progress from GCSE performance.”
