Message from Mr Jackson – final day arrangements

Dear parent/carer

I hope you are well and coping with the difficulties presented by the government’s current rules on the isolation of close contacts. I have no doubt this a frustrating time for many families.

Please see below the arrangements for the final day of term.

The school will break up for the summer holidays on the afternoon of Friday 16 July and there will be a staggered exit from school at the following times:

Y7&12   Noon

Y8           12.02

Y9           12.04

Y10         12.06

Any student wishing to order a packed lunch to take away must do so on the Wednesday or Thursday of the last week of term, during registration. This includes students who are eligible for a free school meal.

Please note there is still uncertainty surrounding the return dates in September due to the potential expectations on schools regarding the testing of students prior to their return.  Last week, the Department for Education, released a vague statement that secondary schools and colleges may be required to set up on-site Asymptomatic Test Sites  (lateral flow tests) from the start of the autumn term. We await definitive guidance regarding this matter, and hope to know more on 19 July.

Mr Clarke will be writing to you over the summer break with specific timings and dates for the return of students.

Best wishes

Mark Jackson, Headteacher
