Letter from Mr Jackson – 16th March (Covid testing)

Thank you for your support in helping us to deliver lateral flow tests to over 1300 of our students.  It has certainly been a huge team effort to deliver these tests and I am proud of the way our students have responded in an extremely sensible and mature manner to facilitate this.  The overwhelming feedback from every member of the testing team has been extremely positive.

After the third test in school, students will be provided with home test kits and you are asked to support your child self-administering these twice per week, on Sundays and Thursdays where possible.

Where permission has been granted, tests will be provided in boxes of three (not very helpfully!) and so after their final test in school this week, students will receive a box (three tests in total) which will last them until the week commencing Sunday 28 March.  More test kits will be provided before the end of term. We ask that you do the first test on Sunday 21 March and the second on Thursday 25 March, continuing on Sundays and Thursdays thereafter.

If you haven’t given permission for your child to be tested, but would like them to be included in the home testing programme, please click the following link .

Mr Roper will be writing to you with details of how to register the tests shortly.

Finally, I would like to thank our students for the pleasant, co-operative and positive manner in which they have returned to school.  Despite the obvious challenges it has been great to see so many students clearly glad to be back in school with their friends.

Best wishes

Mark Jackson, Headteacher
