One of our Year 7 students has qualified for three England teams.
Nathaniel Leteney, 11, competes in both kickboxing and boxing and in February he qualified for a place on the WKO kickboxing England team after winning silver at the British Open.
In March he added a place in the ICO English boxing squad after winning gold at the British Open to become 10-11 years -40Kg British boxing champion.
And to cap that off in April he added another two gold medals from the AFSO organisation British Open Championships when he became the 10-12years -40Kg and -44Kg British Kickboxing Champion – earning another England ‘cap’.
He is a member of West Freestyle Martial Arts in Rawtenstall and is a 2-stripe Brown Belt.
Nathaniel said: “I competed in the boxing at Solihull, which is something I had not tried before. There were four others in my category and I had to try hard but I was really happy when I ended up winning.”
He will now compete for his country in three world championships later this year.
