April 2018: Caring students bake cakes to support mum’s marathon run

Year 10 student Henry Stuttard, whose father tragically died following a brain tumour enlisted help from his friends to raise £171 towards his mum’s marathon fundraiser.

The money raised by Henry and friends Jake and Rosy Bracewell went towards Brain Research UK, a charity now supported by Henry’s family. The fundraising cake sale was held a break time in school and other students and staff also donated cakes for the sale.

Rosy said: “Along with Henry’s younger sister Claudia, we made lots of cakes and put sweets on the top and we also got lots of donations from supermarkets to sell.”

Henry’s mum Lisa and aunt Keira raised £12,000 for the charity, more than double their original target, when they completed the London Marathon.
