Talented kickboxer Sam Rawlinson fought his way to two titles in an inter-club competition held in Duckinfield. Year 10 student Sam is a member of the BJJC Martial Arts Club which meets at Haslingden Sports Centre.
On winning the two trophies, Sam said: “At the competition I was in the over 5ft 6ins category for points and so I had to fight some competitors who were older than me. I had four fights and won them all.
“I am currently a third dan brown belt and I will be in training over the next year to go for my black belt.”
Sam was supported in the competition by his twin sister Ellie, who should also have been competing but was injured. One of our Year 8 students, Jake Higgins also competed and came in third.
