March 2018: Team success in Rossendale Trampoline Competition

TRAMPOLINISTS from Haslingden High School won every team category at the Rossendale Trampoline Competition.

Snow forced what should have been a two-day competition at Fearns Community Sports College, Stacksteads, to be held over just one day and the busy event saw Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum competitors all taking to the trampolines.

PE teacher Mrs Wilson said: “We had so many wanting to take part we didn’t have enough PE kit and so I approached Mrs Seig-Hogg and the PTFA provided extra trampoline kit. We are very grateful for their support.

As well as winning all the team categories, teams from Haslingden were also second and third in the Gold category.

The individual Platinum competition was won by Whitworth Community High School’s Melissa Butterworth with our students Jack Waters second, Max Constant third and fourth place Ben Wilson.

Chi Ho Tang, who helped his team to win the Gold category and was third in the individual Gold competition, said: “We were against teams from all the other high schools and the teams involved students of different ages.”

Trampolinists from our school will also be representing the North of England in the national schools’ final in Belfast this weekend, March 24.
