CARING Amber Ratcliffe has been looking after her poorly grandmother after school and had her dedication rewarded at a special coffee morning.
Amber, 15, is a Year 11 student at Haslingden High School, but when she gets home at 4pm she goes to help her grandmother who is receiving chemotherapy for lung cancer.
She said: “She only lives across the road and I have always spent a lot of time with her.
“I brew up for her and I helped to wrap Christmas presents and write Christmas cards. I spend a couple of hours with her every day after school. I have always been close to my grandmother and it is nice to be able to care for her.”
