Yr7 footy

YEAR 7 footballing girls from Haslingden High School are the Lancashire 5-a-side champions.

They beat the three other teams in the competition at Blackburn Soccerdome scoring an incredible 12 goals in the three matches.

They beat Unity from Burnley 2-0, Ormskirk 3-1 and the Colne’s Park High 7-0; the only goal the team conceded was to a penalty.

The girls then qualified for the regional finals at Trafford Soccerdome and only lost to the eventual winners. Against Kirkby High we won 6-0, then drew 1-1 against Wilmslow.

We lost  1-3 when playing the eventual winners Alder High and won 5-2 against Trinity High.

It was a massive achievement and the school is hoping for the Lancashire double as we are also in the 7-a-side Lancashire finals in March.
