SPORTING students who have raised their game had their hard work rewarded at Haslingden High School’s Sports Award evening.
This year the event was held at the end of the summer term and Head of PE Wes Haworth said: “We had 70 students receiving awards and the Sixth Form Theatre was packed with parents and students.
“We had awards for the sporting star girl and boy of each year for effort and endeavour.
“We also had a certificate for the team of the year and it was won by the Year 7 footballers. We also presented awards for young leaders.”
Several students were inducted into the PE hall of fame for their sporting achievements outside of school which have led them to success on a district, regional and national level.
Mr Haworth said: “We handed out 12 such awards and the students’ photographs are now on the wall as students go into the sports hall.”
