AN ENGINEER was so pleased when a Haslingden High School student found and returned his mobile phone he rewarded him with a gift voucher.
Year 7 Harry Etchells, 12, came across the mobile phone in the road as he was walking home on Broadway near his school.
He handed it to the school office to see if the owner could be traced. Student reception managed to contact the phone’s owner who turned out to be an engineer from Nottingham who had lost his work’s phone.
He had just got a new job and been working in Rossendale when he accidentally left the phone on top of the van and drove off.
Harry said: “He came into school to collect the phone and I got a message to go to reception. He said thanks and asked what I liked doing so he could get me a gift card that I could use.”
