CHEERLEADERS Laura Hartland and Alex Walton will be representing Rossendale in Croatia in the European Cheerleading Championships.
Laura, 14, a Year 9 student at Haslingden High School, and Alex, from Year 7, are members of Bacup-based Limitless Cheerleading Squad.
Laura said: “We are going at the end of June and I will be performing a street cheer routine – it is a combination of cheerleading and street dancing, and I am part of the Junior B team. We have seven teams going to the championship.
“I enjoy performing and the feeling of winning. Being a cheerleader gives me the chance to go to different countries to compete and it also keeps me fit.”
Limitless took part in the UK Cheerleading Association National Championships in March and seven teams won through to represent the UK in Croatia.
Laura is dedicated and trains three times a week at Limitless taking part in pom dance, cheerleading, stunting and street cheer classes.
It is her second trip to the European Championships. In 2013 she was in the Pioneer Cheerleaders team that came third.
